Barley is an important winter crop in Jumla.It is grown in both Khet and Sarna(farming land that lies in high altitude area which has no irrigation facilities). Bhuwali ,Chawali,Lekali and Pawai were four farmer named traditional barley varieties that cultivating in Jumla. Lekali and Pawai are adapted to the high altitude area of Jumla.
