In recent years, the number of hotels in Jumla Bazaar has increased significantly. Facilities have improved to better serve tourists, and visitors can now choose accommodation according to their budget, ranging from basic lodges to relatively comfortable hotels.
If you are traveling to Rara Lake via Sinja, you will find a few hotels along the route that provide basic food and accommodation. While the facilities are simple, the hospitality of local hosts is warm and welcoming.
For those traveling from Patmara- Khali to Rara, accommodation options are very limited. However, small tea houses are available that offer meals, and in some cases, free basic accommodation upon request.
The Jumla Khali – Neurighat – Chautha – Bhulbhule – Chuchemara – Rara route is recommended as the best and most moderate trekking option, with minimal foot traffic.
At Rara, standard hotels are available in Salleri, near the National Park check post. If you prefer to stay closer to the lake, a hike of about two hours along the lakeside will take you to Maghghatta, where homestays and small resorts offer basic services. Additionally, there are two hotels located directly beside Rara Lake that provide food and accommodation.
Travelers to Karnali should be prepared for limited facilities in remote areas. Flexibility, mental preparedness, and a spirit of adventure will greatly enhance your experience.
