The religious trek to Thakurgyu Lake is
very easy, short and sweet trek in Jumla region. This is potential trekking
sites in Jumla for its panoramic short trekking. Thousands of devotees and
visitors used to go there at the time of Janai Purnima but the region is still
unexplore by trekkers.
Janai purnima is also named as a Rakshya Bandana
which is observed in the month of August for the purpose of bound of purity and
security. The secret threat festival “Janai Purnima is not only celebrated
inside Nepal but also celebrated all over the world. On this occasion, Hindu
men, especially the Brahmins and Chhetri perform their annual change of Janai
and all who celebrates this festival put a scared thread around their wrist.
Janai is a cotton string worn across the chest by Hindu male. This thread is
only given to males during a long and impressive religious ceremony called
Bratabandhan. Almost all the religion has their own type of Bratabandhan, but
known by different names. Bratabandhan is basically a formal process of
accepting someone in the religion. Janai (Secret Threat) is regarded as symbol
of body, speech and mind, and when the knots are tied the person wearing it is
supposed to gain complete control over each of them.
The religious trek of Thakurgyu on Janaipurnima starts after a day
drive or flight to Khalanga bazaar. The beautiful trekking trail continually
offers wonderful forests,different spectacular views of Mount Kanjirowa,Patarasi
range and also we can observe different holy lakes,Sankha daha,Hudkey
daha,Gidhi daha near to Thakurgyu lake. These lakes are very important according
to Hinduism, there will be pilgrimage festival of Hindu people to purify
according to spiritual beliefs.We stay first night of trekking in Sano Haka and
second night at Thakurgyu Lake.

Day 02: Aclimatization/ Sightseeing day in Jumla
Bazaar
Day 03: Jumla to Sano Haka 4100m
Day 04: Sano Haka to Thakurgyu Lake 4300m
Day 05: Thakurgyu Lake to Jumla Bazaar
Day 06: Free for personal activities or guided
tour on request.

ReplyDeleteThis area is not yet explore by trekkers or tourist till date only locals and Yarshagumba searcher travel to this area. this area is ofcourse nice and wild.We believe this is the closest place in Nepal where yarshagumba found and one can experience such landscapes and altitude. It's only 2 Nights 3 Days trek from Jumla Bazaar.
