Every year, during the full moon of Poush (Poush Purnima), the temple site becomes the focal point of one of the region’s most vibrant religious celebrations. A significant part of the ritual involves the sacrifice of goats, an age-old offering to the divine. The celebration resonates with devotional chants, traditional music, and collective prayers, fostering a deep sense of faith and unity among the participants.

A unique tradition observed during the festival is that each family cooks their food separately, using their own hearths. Only puri and vegetables are prepared—rice and lentils are strictly forbidden during this sacred occasion. Additionally, women and girls undergoing menstruation are not permitted to visit the temple or participate in household worship until the rituals conclude. These practices reflect long-standing cultural norms surrounding purity and religious discipline.
